How to measure for a suit
Step 1: over arms
Stand with your hands at your side & measure around the broadest part of your shoulders.
Step 2: chest
Measure around the upper body, below your armpits, and over the fullest part of your chest & back.
Step 3: waist
Bend to one side to find where your waist naturally creases and measure, keeping the
tape comfortably loose.
Step 4: inseam
Stand straight with your legs slightly apart and measure from the top of your inner
thigh to the bottom of your ankle.
Jackets are determined by your chest measurement plus the desired coat length—short, regular, or long (e.g., 38S, 40R, 42L).
Pants use a drop measurement. To find your drop, subtract 6-7 inches from the over-arm measurement. This will give you the waist size (e.g., 29, 30, 32). Refer To The Men’s Size Guide
Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between slim-fit & skinny-fit suits?
Slim-fit suits have a close fit through the chest and waist, with more room in the shoulders and thighs. Skinny-fit suits have a tighter, more form-fitting cut throughout, emphasizing a sleek and narrow silhouette.
How do I choose the right suit for my body type?
Choosing the right suit depends on your body shape and personal style. Trying on different cuts and consulting with our Personal Stylists can help you find your perfect fit.
What suit fit is best for a tall man?
Tall men often look great in slim- or modern-fit suits, which offer a tailored appearance without being too tight. These styles help elongate the body and create a balanced silhouette. Ensuring the jacket & sleeves are the correct length is essential.
Can I wear a skinny-fit suit if I have a muscular build?
Skinny-fit suits can be worn by anyone, including individuals with a muscular build. The key is finding a suit that provides comfort & mobility. Opt for a fabric with some stretch, and consider having the suit tailored. Modern-fit suits are a good alternative for muscular builds, offering more room while maintaining a stylish look.
Are modern- & classic-fit suits the same?
Modern-fit suits are slightly more tailored than classic-fit suits, providing a contemporary look. Classic-fit suits offer a more traditional roomier silhouette that allows for ease of movement.
